Hyde Park was built in 1973 and then converted into condos in 1980. It is located on the southernmost tip of the Ballston neighborhood. Situated along Glebe Rd and Henderson Rd, it is right next door to the Harris Teeter grocery store and just four blocks away from the Ballston Metro.
Hyde Park excels at being a full-service building. The community has security on staff 24 hours a day, an outdoor pool, a party room, a picnic area, and even a few shops on the ground floor of the building.
The units at Hyde Park feature parquet hardwood floors, gas cooking, large closets, and every condo has a balcony. Hyde Park floor plans are considerably larger than some other Ballston counterparts like Ballston Park, Windsor Plaza Ballston, or Lexington Square. In fact, Hyde Park will have some of the largest floor plans in all of Arlington.
Two bedroom layouts at Hyde Park will be well over 1,000 square feet and some layouts will even hit 1,700 square feet. One bedroom layouts can be as large as 945 square feet. The largest 3-bedroom layouts top out at 1,822 square feet.
Condo fees are slightly higher at Hyde Park, but with good reason. They cover all utilities, pool service, a private park for grilling, and garage. The downside to this is that condo fees also include a common laundry room. There is no washer or dryers in-unit at Hyde Park. A slight inconvenience depending on how important this is for you.
Parking does not convey with condos at Hyde Park. Instead, parking is purchased separately on an annual basis. Parking is $150 per year for the first car and $300 per year for the second car.
When it all comes down to it, Hyde Park is a slightly older building that has generous floor plans and lots of amenities.
