Karl Alzner, who spent nine seasons manning the blue line for the Washington Capitals, has put his north Arlington home on the market for $1,750,000.
Alzner signed with the Montreal Canadiens in the off-season as an unrestricted free agent for $23.2 million over a five-year term.
The six bedroom, five and a half bathroom home was purchased brand new by Alzner in 2014 for $1.6 million. This came just six months after Alzner signed a four-year extension with the Caps in 2013 for $11.2 million.
The home has a whopping 5,200 square feet of living space, a two-car garage, designer kitchen, theatre room, and a large outdoor patio.
Karl’s former digs also has surprisingly good walkability for 22207 as the house is just a short walk to Nottingham Elementary School, Yorktown High School, District Taco, Joe’s Pizza, and the Lee Harrison Shopping Center.
Selling the home after signing with Montreal was only a matter of time as the rental market for (almost) new construction homes is slim to begin with, and virtually nonexistent once the school year starts. More pictures below:
