Top 5 Most Expensive Airbnb Short-Term Rentals in Arlington

Short-term rentals have become quite popular throughout Arlington County in the past few years. Airbnb currently has thousands of homes listings in all corners of the county. One can rent a room for as low as $10, but in today’s post, we’re going to take a look at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Today we’re going to look at the most expensive Airbnbs in Arlington. After weeding through all the “Inauguration specials” (think studio apartments for $700 with no reviews), we have come up with the top five active Airbnb short-term rentals in Arlington. Let’s take a look:

5. Contemporary Clarendon Townhouse — $650/night

The location for this three bedroom townhouse is simply unbeatable. Located across the street from Whole Foods and right next to Starbucks, this home certainly provides the best starting point for anyone looking to spend a few nights in town. The townhouse has modern upgrades throughout, a chef’s gourmet kitchen, and is furnished with contemporary pieces. The townhouse can accommodate up to eight people and with a minimum stay of three days, it would make for the perfect centrally-located home for a weekend getaway.

4. New Home in Donaldson Run — $675/night

In what is possibly the best deal of the bunch, this new home makes a great alternative for families who are considering piling into a pair of small hotel rooms. The space accommodates up to eight people and boasts magnificent features such as a spa-like master bathroom, an open kitchen with breakfast bar, a balcony, and an outdoor private patio. Donaldson Run is deceptively close to the Metro and D.C. as it’s an easy 5-10 minute Uber ride to public transportation or to Georgetown.

3. Spacious Clarendon Townhouse — $700/night

Since condos and apartments prohibit short-term rentals, there is a strong market for townhouses in urban locales that are easily-accessible to public transportation. This Clarendon townhouse fits the mold and it can accommodate you and up to eight of your closest friends. $700 is probably a little on the steep side unless you have a large group. But with the A+ location and upscale finishes, the townhouse combines the best of both worlds.

2. Southern-Style Home in North Arlington – $795/night

southern style home

Even though Airbnb rentals are homes and not hotels, the exterior of this home may try to fool you as it looks like it could be a small bed-and-breakfast you might find below the Mason-Dixon Line. This Southern-style residence is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the Donaldson Run neighborhood, yet it’s just minutes to the heart of the action. The four-bedroom home accommodates up to seven guests and even offers access to the Donaldson Run Recreation Association which includes a community pool, kiddie pool, basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, and picnic area. The home features stunning renovations and upgrades throughout the interior to go along with a beautiful old-school front veranda with rocking chairs that look out over the entrance to the home.

1. Modern Mansion in Arlington Ridge – $1,200/night

modern mansion

This monster home has 3,600 square feet on four levels of living space. The home was purchased in 2015 for almost $1,000,000 and has undergone significant renovations. Designer finishes will be found throughout the home. Amenities include a 65-inch TV, 12-seat dinner table, balcony off of the kitchen, cinema room with projector and sound system, and so much more. There are beautiful views of Pentagon City off the back deck of the home. $1,200/night is not cheap but after reading the nine 5-star reviews and seeing that 100+ travelers have saved the home to their profile, there seems to be a fair amount of interest in the home. The residence is walkable to two Metro stops, a 5-10 minute drive to D.C. and has flawless upgrades throughout the home. It also helps that the owner has almost 700 (!) of his own reviews from staying at other Airbnbs. Customer service from the host does not go unnoticed as the owner is mentioned positively in almost all the reviews for this modern mansion.

Hopefully, this gives you a good idea for the upper echelon of short-term rental homes in the area. Arlington County is changing the laws for Airbnbs (and other short-term rentals) so if you are considering renting out your property or purchasing a home with the thought of converting it into a short-term rental, be sure you are staying abreast of the latest changes.

If you had your pick, which one of these luxurious rentals would you like for the weekend?
